Clinical Medicine (NTA 4-6) Programme

The Diploma in Clinical Medicine is designed to prepare competent healthcare practitioners capable of providing preventive, diagnostic, curative, and rehabilitative healthcare services. The programme equips students with the knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes required to address common health challenges within communities.

Students study anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, microbiology, public health, medical ethics, and disease prevention. The programme also focuses on clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, patient management, maternal and child health, emergency care, and community health services.

Through classroom learning and practical training, students develop competencies in patient examination, history taking, diagnosis, treatment planning, counseling, and referral procedures. The programme emphasizes evidence-based practice, professionalism, teamwork, and patient-centered care.

Clinical placements in hospitals, health centers, and community healthcare facilities provide hands-on experience in real healthcare environments. Students gain exposure to outpatient and inpatient care, reproductive health services, emergency medicine, and disease prevention programmes.

Graduates are qualified to work as Clinical Officers and primary healthcare providers in hospitals, health centers, dispensaries, community health programmes, and non-governmental organizations. The programme also provides a pathway for further education in medicine, public health, healthcare management, and related health sciences.
